Martha E. Knox, 94, of Raymond, died peacefully Monday, January 30, 2017 at her residence with her family by her side.

Born December 9, 1922 in Cameron, MO, she was the daughter of the late John and Ernestine (Schmitz) Davis. On July 12, 1947 she married her husband of 52 years, Jack Knox, and he preceded her in death on November 8, 1999. She was also preceded in death by her sisters, Laverla Perkins, Joy Slaughter and 11 half-brothers and sisters.

A 1941 graduate of Cameron High School, she moved to Columbus where she lived for over 50 years before moving to Raymond. She first worked for Ohio Bell and then as a dental assistant for various Dentist’s in the Columbus area. Martha formerly attended the Linden Church of Christ and most recently the Millcreek Church of Christ, loved doing word searches, crocheting and collecting dolls.

She is survived by her son, Jack (Patsy) Knox of Raymond; grandchildren, Johnny (Janelle) Knox and Christine (Ryan) Monge; great grandchildren, Will, Hope and Zoe Knox; a brother, John Davis of Las Vegas, NV and a sister, Esther Thomas of Newport, OR along with many nieces and nephews.

A private graveside service will be held for the family at Otterbein Cemetery in Westerville. Her son, Jack Knox will officiate. Friends may call from 4-7 P.M. Thursday, February 2, 2017 at Wilson Funeral Home-Mannasmith Chapel. In Lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions to the Millcreek Church of Christ or the charity of the donor’s choice in care of the funeral home.
