Sanford. E. “Sandy” Waugh, 78, of Marysville and formerly of West Mansfield, died peacefully surrounded by family, Thursday, March 22, 2018 at Bluebird Retirement and Assisted Living following an extended illness.

Sandy was a devoted husband and a loving father and grandfather. An avid fisherman, he was quite the mushroom hunter, often hunting them with family or the occasional trip to Michigan with friends. Possessing a unique talent to find 4-leaf clovers, all anyone had to do was ask and Sandy would deliver. He also enjoyed gardening, playing games and “junk” collecting, especially at garage sales. Some of his favorite items to collect were coins, Pepsi items, arrowheads and sea shells.

He worked in maintenance at O.M. Scotts for 23 years and Harris, Jolliff and Michel Lumber Company for 20 years. A member of the West Mansfield United Methodist Church, Sandy formerly served as a Perry Township Trustee for 4 years and volunteered as a youth baseball coach.

Born September 10, 1939 in Pliny, W.V., he was the son of the late Baylous and Nearie (Milton) Waugh.

On December 16, 1961 at the West Mansfield United Methodist Church, he married his wife of 56 years, Gerry Lynn (Fogle) and she survives in Marysville.

Also surviving are his children, Rick Allen Waugh of West Mansfield, Randall Scott (Chris) Waugh of Lakeview and Regan E. (Shelly) Waugh of Plainfield, IN; grandchildren, Olivia L., Heath D. (Brianna), Mekayla R. and Cole A. Waugh, Harli M. (Luke) Williams, Lindsi R., Mallori C., Alec H. and Karlee M. Waugh; a great grandchild, Avery Waugh; his mother-in-law, Marion (Willis) Anderson; brothers, Garry L. (Judy) Waugh of Springfield and Herbert A. (Jean) Waugh of Clear Lake, IA; a sister, Beverly Sue (Aaron) Wright of Prospect along with numerous nieces and nephews.
