Lois Opal “Topsy” (Paver) Wood, 88, of Marysville, left her earthly body to be present with the Lord on Wednesday, August 9, 2017 at Milcrest Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
A woman with a strong work ethic, Topsy worked for various companies around the Marysville area, first with Eljers and from there went on to Ranco, Bulldog, Dec-Rite, Hafner’s Five & Dime, the Short Stop on Main and Coin Laundry. In her spare time, she enjoyed crossword puzzles, watching Nancy Grace on TV, reading the newspaper front to back and walking almost anywhere, but her biggest joy came from spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Born March 30, 1929 in Allen Center, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Cora (Whitmore-Galloway) Paver. Also preceding her in death were her brothers, John, Harvey, Bill and his wife Mary Estien, Eugene, Walter and Ray “Tom” Paver and a sister and brother-in-law, Roanna (Charles) Kreis.
A devoted mother, grandmother and great grandmother, she is survived by her children, Tracy (Burt) Combs, Tim (Audrey) Wood both of Marysville, Teri (Chris) Vargo of Mt. Victory and Tami (Gary) Hay of Hollywood, FL; grandchildren, Jacilyn Wood, Aleashia (Brent Gerbig) Wood, Holly (Cameron Cloyd) Wood, Nikki (Mykie) Vergeldedios, Ella Wood, Randy Hay, Zach Noteman and Michael (Katherine) Fiest; great grandchildren, Sage and Ariana Snodgrass, Mia Wood, Kara Myers, Griffin Gerbig, Victoria and Vinnie Vergeldedios, Fredrick Fiest; a brother and sister-in-law, Pearl and Carol Paver; numerous nieces and nephews and many other step grandchildren and extended family.
Funeral services will be held at 5:00 P.M. Sunday, August 13, 2017 at Wilson Funeral Home, Mannasmith Chapel. Reverend Craig Kise will officiate. Friends may call from 2:00-5:00 P.M. prior to the service on Sunday at the funeral home. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Monday, August 14, 2017 at the Raymond Cemetery.
